| Friday 5/2/2031: Wade Davis pitches 2-hit shutout against Boston BOSTON - Boston's hitters looked uncomfortable, and Detroit's Wade Davis didn't help them. The right-hander fired his 1st shutout of the season, a 2-hitter. 'I really like to play baseball, and I love the way I was able to play it today.' Davis (1-5) struck out 4 and issued 1 BB, throwing 62 of 102 pitches for strikes. The hitting star for Detroit was first baseman Juan Stolp, he stroked 2 hits in 4 AB, hitting a double. Detroit improved its record to 6-23, scoring 3 runs on 6 hits. |
| Thursday 5/1/2031: Washington's Kurtz named Pitcher of the Month Sean Carlson couldn't have pitched much better than he did in April, and the AL thought so as well, naming the right-hander Pitcher of the Month. He struck out 20 hitters in his 6 starts, putting together a record of 5-0 while pitching 20 innings. His ERA in April was 1.12. Washington's Aaron Kurtz had a terrific April, and it earned him the NL Pitcher of the month award. He started 6 games in April, going 4-1 and compiling an ERA of 1.40 in 45 innings. Aaron fanned 43 hitters. Aaron also fired a shutout. |
| Thursday 5/1/2031: Minnesota's Howe earns Batter of the Month award The Batter of the Month award in the AL goes to Minnesota's Joseph Howe this time, as the first baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. He hit .411 with 34 RBI and slugged .853 in 95 at bats. Florencio Lamela of Philadelphia wins his 1st Batter of the Month award for putting up the best numbers in the NL. Florencio was on fire, hitting .374 with 11 homeruns and 33 RBI. |
| Monday 4/28/2031: Minnesota's Howe wins Player of the Week award The AL's best player of the week was Minnesota's Joseph Howe, who wins the award for the 6th time in his career. Joseph pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .542 with 4 HR and 12 RBI while slugging 1.125. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 7 game hitting streak right now. Joseph has gone 34 for 86 (.395) this season, hitting 10 bombs and driving in 29 runs. He has scored 20 runs on his own. He's 2nd in the AL in batting, 2nd in homeruns and 1st in RBI! Gary Mathison wins his 1st Player of the Week award. NL pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Gary pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .500 with 2 HR and 7 RBI while slugging .875. He hit in every game this week and extended his hitting streak to 7 games. |

| Friday 4/25/2031: Edward Powell ropes four hits, completes cycle CLEVELAND - Edward Powell hits 'em where they ain't. Cleveland certainly agrees as Minnesota's centerfielder unloaded four hits and hitting for the cycle. His 1st hit, off William Charon in the 2nd inning, was a three-run homerun and cleared the fence in center field. A single in the 3rd off Solomon Rivenburg accounted for his 2nd hit. In the 4th inning he belted a double off Andrew Crunk. Hit number 4 followed in the 6th inning, a RBI triple. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Edward scored 2 runs, and he collected 4 RBI as well! He's having a very good season so far, batting .352. 139 players in league history have so far hit for the cycle, including Edward. On 8/28/2030, Edward Powell was the last player to hit for the cycle. |
| Friday 4/25/2031: Harold Zacarias blanks Cleveland with a 2-hitter CLEVELAND - Harold Zacarias had some fun again. Cleveland hitters did not. Minnesota's lefty gave up just 2 hits in his 1st shutout of the season. He now has 6 career shutouts in 179 games started. Zacarias (2-1) struck out an astounding 13 and walked 1, throwing 73 of 117 pitches for strikes. 'Winning is the most important thing. And I gave my team all the support it needed!' Cristian Dunas helped Zacarias at the plate, he collected 3 hits in 5 trips to the plate, hitting a homerun, doubling once, scoring 2 runs with 6 RBI. The final score of the game was 17-0. |
| Monday 4/21/2031: Weston (CLE) and Lamela (PHI) win P.O.W. award The AL Player of the Week award goes to James Weston, Cleveland's starting first baseman. Weston helped his team with an average of .500 and 7 RBI in 26 at bats. He hit in every game this week and extended his hitting streak to 11 games. Philadelphia's leftfielder Florencio Lamela had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the NL Player of the Week. Lamela helped his team with an average of .423 and 13 RBI in 26 at bats. His season features a batting average of .342 (25 hits in 73 AB), 3 doubles, one triple and 8 longballs. Lamela collected 24 RBI and 14 runs as well. He's 1st in the NL in RBIs and 4th in homeruns! |

Monday 4/14/2031: Minnesota's Bailey wins Player of the Week award
Bill Bailey wins his 3rd Player of the Week award. AL pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. He hit .429 with 5 RBI and slugged .929 in 28 at bats. The NL Player of the Week award goes to Ali Hutchinson, Arizona's starting third baseman. Ali pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .481 with 4 HR and 11 RBI while slugging 1.111. Hutchinson has hit for a .440 average this season. He has 9 extra base hits along with 42 total bases, resulting in a .840 slugging percentage. He's 2nd in the NL in batting, 6th in homeruns and 9th in RBI!

Tuesday 4/8/2031: Ray Liotta out for 4-5 weeks
TORONTO - Toronto is without its right-hander Ray Liotta for at least 4-5 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Wayne Rangel in a game against Tampa Bay. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Strained Elbow Ligament.
Monday 4/7/2031: Washington's Jude wins Player of the Week award
The Player of the Week award in the AL goes to Toronto's Michael Pope this time, as the third baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. In 32 at bats he hit .469 with 3 HR and 10 RBI. Michael is hitting .469 this year, with 15 hits in 32 at bats. He has driven in 10 runs, slugging .844. He's 2nd in the AL in batting, 3rd in homeruns and 3rd in RBI! The NL Player of the Week award goes to Kenneth Jude, Washington's starting third baseman. Kenneth was on fire, hitting .458 with 5 HR and 13 RBI.
